Oval
Oval suction cups are suitable for elongated workpieces such as profiles and pipes. Despite their relatively small size, oval vacuum suction cups can produce greater forces than standard suction cups. These are a great way to handle a wide range of thin and curved objects.
Extra deep
Suitable for handling round or domed workpieces. The extra deep vacuum chuck can be seen as a compromise between standard suction cups, which perform best when handling flat objects. These extra-deep suction cups are even suitable for handling heavily corrugated surfaces or surfaces with large curves.
Silicone suction cups
Silicone suction cups are considered a good choice for handling injection moulding, a manufacturing process in which molten material is injected into a mould. Silicone can handle both thermoformed and frozen parts, thanks to its impressive temperature range of -30 to 180°C.
An advantage of silicone cups is that they do not leave marks on the surface, a common problem with NBR cups. This is despite the fact that silicone cups cost 30% to 50% more and their wear resistance is so poor that for high pressure applications they will not be acceptable.
For industrial and high temperature applications, in which case standard rubber vacuum suction cups are the best.
Suction cups function when they are manually pushed onto a surface (if it is a hand-held device). They work by pushing negative air pressure onto any non-porous, smooth, clean and dry surface, thus creating a partial but strong and safe vacuum between the suction cup and the surface.
As the air pressure within the suction cups always tries to balance itself as it creates a vacuum, the air will be pushed out, meaning that any voids will naturally be filled with air.
If air can work its way around the edge of the suction cup, the seal will be broken and the suction cup will lose its suction power. The level of suction and how long it can be maintained depends largely on the type of equipment you are using. It is important not to overuse a particular suction force as the loss of pressure will cause the glass or whatever material you are using to drop.
This will cause the material to shatter, or worse, it could be dangerous - especially if someone is installing windows in a high-rise building, such as a commercial office space or flat block.
There are many ways to remove grout, but each type of tool has benefits and drawbacks. Generally speaking, the more powerful the tool, the more dust it will produce, so be sure to wear a mask and all other applicable personal protective equipment when removing grout. An oscillating tool equipped with
